When I was in Kazakhstan, I stayed with some of our missionary friends, the Bakers (the ones who took me out for the real Kazakh meal). David has learned to play the national instrument of Kazakhstan, the dombira (or dombra). In fact, he plays it better than most Kazakhs can, and has even performed on television a few times!

Here is a clip (it only took me a month to figure out how to get it online!!) of one of the songs he played for me, which happens to be my favorite one, which talks about a foolish girl. It is one of the more well-known folk songs. His daughter, Julia, provides additional entertainment with her interpretive dancing of the song.
